You can argue about whether America is the greatest country in the world, but you can't argue about the extreme influence American culture has had all over the globe. One of our biggest exports is film; you'd be hard-pressed to meet anyone who hasn't seen an American movie before. However, did you ever stop to think about what our movies say about us? Movies are full of car chases, shoot outs, star-crossed lovers, and fanciful musical numbers, so they may be giving people who have never visited The States a few misconceptions about what American life is really like.
